In this article, which is part of our series on conducting a mind sweep, we are going to focus on prompts related to transportation, vehicles, travel, and various upcoming events.

You have handouts, which are available for easy download here:

If you’ve been reading through the whole series (probably 15 or 16 articles by now), you probably know how this looks, but some folks are new here…

Transportation/Vehicles:

Take a look at page 49 where you’ll see the lovely Segway, something I think would be super fun to have, and then about 30+ prompts related to many modes of transportation and many aspects of transportation. I would be quite surprised if you didn’t see something here that causes you to think, ‘Oh, yeah, I need to…’ Make note of those — even if you think you might have already written the idea down on another index card. Better to have it twice than not at all.

Travel:

Page 50 has prompts focused on Travel. If you do not travel at all and you have no one traveling to see you or work with you, then you can skip this page. Most likely, you will have something there that sparks your thinking.

Upcoming Events:

And then Upcoming events is on page 51. You may have dug around in many of the ideas that show up on this page when you consulted your calendar as the first part of your mind sweep (referenced in one of the early articles). However, that doesn’t mean there isn’t something else here to attend to. Some of the ideas here may not show up (yet) on your calendar so you wouldn’t have come across them in your calendar scan.

Please note: The ideas on this sheet are not necessarily prompts about something that needs to go in your calendar. If Daylight Savings Time is coming up where you live and the changeover is about to happen, it may already show on your calendar. The reason I have it as a prompt is because maybe you need to make note about something to do BECAUSE of the changeover and I don’t just mean switching your clocks. I learned a few years ago when I was still speaking around the country that taking a workshop on the east coast, which was already a three-hour difference and then doing that the week after the clocks changed in March was a bad idea. So I started to make note of this after this learning experience and decline invitations to do workshops the second half of March if they were 3 time zones away anyway. Remember, my actions are not the same as yours. Yours are not the same as other mind sweepers. That’s great! You need to make note of what matters to you and works for you.

Thankfully, with the online calendars that most of us have access to now, it is a great place to put all the birthdays, anniversaries, and other repetitive events so that you will be easily reminded. I have a reminder on the 20th of the month to look at the UPCOMING month for any of those events so that I can send a card or do whatever else I might want to rather than being reminded the day OF something. That’s never good! HA!

Okey, dokey! Get to it! Sweep away!

Here I am the most recent day I was leading a mind sweep for about 50 people. I wore a rainbow shirt and rainbow necklace to symbolize the “arc” of how this process goes.
