In another article, I’m going to give you tips on what a desk *is*. However, to prepare you for that, I need to make sure you’re clear on what a desk *is not*. So here goes…

A desk is NOT:

  • A storage unit.
  • A shelf.
  • An in-box.
  • A permanent repository.
  • A photo gallery.
  • A museum.
  • A pantry.
  • A pharmacy.
  • A loading dock.
  • A supply closet.
  • A candy store.

Surely your desk couldn’t be described with any of these terms, right? Read through the list just one more time, then look around the top of your desk and in the drawers, just to make sure. In case you notice something that would indicate that you think your desk is a storage unit, shelf, in-box, permanent repository, photo gallery, museum, pantry, pharmacy, loading dock, supply closet, or a candy store, go ahead and remove the evidence of your mistaken notion about what a desk is. :)

You’ll be ready for the next article about what a desk is now that you know what a desk is not.
